Day 6, 09/22/2011:
Our flight was at 3PM, but some classmates had already checked out at 9AM and had been sitting in the lobby waiting for the bus to arrive at 12PM to take us to the airport. Gradually everyone checked out before noon. We all flew on the same flight out to Houston to catch the connecting flight to San Jose, except Cuong who had to fly home in L.A.
At Houston airport I called Gia Long to inform him of the unchanged flight arrival time. He then told us that HueNga’s couple and Diep The Kien’s couple were also on their way to San Jose for the class reunion. Everyone was delighted to hear the news which came as a big surprise because a week ago there was no indication of their plan of coming.
When we arrived at San Francisco airport, we found Gia Long, my relative and Khuan Bo’s daughter were waiting for us in three vehicles. After retrieving luggage, we headed to a Vietnamese restaurant in San Jose to enjoy a bowl of phở, paid for by Ngoan Nhu’s couple. The hot beef noodles tasted especially good at close to mid-night. Thank you Ngoan Nhu and her man.
Back to our residence in San Jose, everyone was tired and went to bed after a quick shower.
